Halloween

This holiday is usually associated with scary stuff.. So I decided to do a special feature. I'm excited about her and her brand; she's my personal 'persin', my very own make up artist.. P.S: she's a Princess Today's post is on Julie's Streak. I asked her a couple of questions, here is how it went down: *What brought about the idea? I've always been artistically inclined. Started writing and drawing when I was very young. As I got older I got interested in makeup, but I never wanted the mainstream stuff, 'normal' has never been my thing. One day, many years ago I saw a painting of a woman with a cracked skull on the Internet and ideas started pouring into my head. I found a way to stand inbetween the line of make up as a beauty tool and art as a form of makeup.  *What year did you start? I could say I started years ago, but that would be stretching it too far. Let's just say I've been at it 'seriously&#

TGIF!!!

Hi people, My amazing friend Morountodun, (I just love how unique her name is) we've been friends for 12 years and counting (yeah I have to share ) started a website. (Its a big deal, hehe). Since the day I met her, she has never ceased to amaze me, from her very full and long natural hair; had been natural since birth (that was a big deal for me at that time of my life), she hadn't pierced her ear holes (honestly I had not met anyone with no piercing) and it wasn't because of some religious act, and mostly because she was an artist.. Still is. She has drawn me a couple of times. Lol. She also writes.. Amazing stories too.. She has a beautiful mind, heart, personality. Should I continue? Lol. Anyways enough about her, like I said earlier, she has a website. And to create awareness, she has a target of 1000 views and contacts, I'll appreciate it if you go check it out,and share. Its important that you share!! Pretty please . The website is for ev

Lauren Daigle

Lauren Daigle is a contemporary christian music singer. I absolutely love her voice. She speaks to your soul and situation.  Her music is exceptional; but my favorite two are: How Can It Be and Trust In You. The first time I heard 'How Can It Be' I was in tears.. Sigh.. Like I said she speaks to your situation. That moment of my life I felt inadequate of God's love and then I heard this song.  Just take a moment to look at the lyrics:  http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/laurendaigle/howcanitbe.html 'Trust in you' is nothing short of her amazing voice, again the lyrics blow me away. The chorus is always a reminder: When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move When You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through When You don’t give the answers as I cry out to You I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You! I always ask myself; can I still trust God when He doesn't give me the answers I want? Can I still be genuinely gra

Your Isaac

I always marvel at Abraham's faith. That man went through a lot. I ask myself if I'm capable of enduring one tenth of what he went through.. (Genesis 12 and 22) After waiting for years for a child, God eventually gave him one, and then God said he should sacrifice him.. Every time I read this passage (Genesis 22:2) I take a pause, I'm like 'hollup hollup, whatasay??'. I'm always like God please don't give me such a test oh; because I'll legit fail. 😖 Notice in Gensis 22:1; says 'After all this, God tested Abraham' (The Message). Its clearly says after all what Abraham went through God tested him, test is in past tense; meaning when Abraham was encountering such it wasn't a test for him. We read it now as a test; but for him it was life, real life! Not African Magic or Telemundo.. Lol. What's your Isaac I ask? It doesn't have to be your child.. Lol. It can be your time, your communion with God, or time with other believers, your

The Halo Effect

Are you exhibiting the halo effect? Do you buy products because of the celebrity representing it? Or stay in a relationship that is wrong because of one good quality? We are all attracted to people all the time. What attracts us to others? And what attracts you? When you meet someone for the first time you draw a conclusion about them, subconsciously you decide whether you like them or not. BUT is it possible that one trait or aspect of one's character can influence your perception about them? Honestly, I judge a person's character based on their physical appearance, its a quick judgment that is very likely inaccurate. The good thing is that once I begin to have a conversation, I realize there's more to the person than just physical looks. (Well that's for those that are actually more than their looks). The halo effect can cloud our judgment even when we know about it. When one good quality spills its appeal unto other elements of a per

Part 2

If you missed Part 1, here is the link: http://theinspiredcutiee.blogspot.com.ng/2015/10/part-1.html#more Part 2: Habit A habit is something done repeatedly sometimes sometimes unconsciously. 40% of everything we do is done merely from habit. Experts say that a habit can be broken or formed in 30 days. I have bad habits, (cell phone addiction, PROCRASTINATION) some I don't even know how I'll be if I stop,(watching too much series) some I have stopped, (I used to suck my lower lip) and I'm sure you too have some habits that are bad. No judgment, habits form us, its when they are bad that it becomes a problem. Breaking a habit can seem overwhelming, especially when you have more than one. Choose a single habit and work on that until you are victorious before you pick up another one. Lemme share a classic example, I began to exercise daily few weeks ago, normal body pains are expected, but me I stopped.  I couldn't deal. On Saturday 24th October I

Adele

If you haven't heard 'Hello' by now, you are probably living under a rock. I don't know what you are waiting for. Adele has always been bae and she still is.  My playlist is never complete with her. Lots and lots of reviews on her and her music, I'm not even going to bother to write one, just Google, after all Google is your friend.  The memes are the height , I totally cannot deal. I can't wait for her album which comes out in November  The video "Hello"  has had over a hundred million views in just 5 days; this comment is just priceless, I had to take a quick picture because lots of people were commenting. I hope you can see it though: With love, theInspiredCutiee 

Trust Issues

I work with children every Sunday, lemme rephrase and say toddlers; these range from some at 11 months to 3 years. They are a handful. Believe me. I don't know how people who run a daycare cope. I'm just opportuned to stay with them for max 3 hours and I'm usually worn out. The koko of my matter is when their parents drop them off, siggghhhhhh! Some parents over do to be honest!  na only you get pikin?!!! Please let your child grow up. I'm not a children hater oh biko before you think I'm some psycho who hates children, its the opposite sef, I love them, (my uncle thinks I work with them as an escape from reality because children are simple, they aren't as complicated as grown ups) I'm just of the school of thought that there are certain phases that children have to go through. One is separation from your parents. Some would say I don't want my child to cry, really?!! Even the Bible says there's a time for everything; A time to cry and a time

Sunday Special

Today's post is on Sparkle Organizers.  Tosin (brain behind this awesome idea of a brand) a.k.a Grammie (I call her my grandmother, lol, because she likes to handle stuff), I have known her to be so prim and proper, sometimes 'I'm like uuughh have a little chaos' but I guess she's wired that way. Lol. Anyways here's what she had to say about her brand: Clutter is a confusing or disorderly state of things lying about in an untidy manner, and most people are unaware of the clutter they've built. The idea of becoming a professional organizer/clutter consultant resulted from the acquisition of what to do with my God given talent. You see right from a very young age I've loved arranging, to the extent of being branded 'the arranger' in my family. It brings me so much joy and fulfillment to see everything in place, and order in everywhere i go. So, I then thought of how to share this talent with the community and googled a

Mantra

I saw the movie The Help in 2012, the scence in which Viola Davis told the child (Mae Mobley); 'you is smart, you is important , you is beautiful, coupled with the lesson I learnt at Daystar Leadership Academy (personal transformation) I developed this mantra: I am beautiful inside and outside I'm smart because the Holy Spirit lives in me I'm important because I'm a child of God. I say this to myself EVERYDAY, again EVERYDAY. I even encouraged my younger sister to have one. What you tell yourself is very important. Once you believe it, you'll find yourself saying it, and once you start saying it your entire being will reflect the treasure of His Word inside and outside. You too can develop yours. TGIF!!!

Yaay.. Friday!🎉 Wasn't Monday just here? Lol.. Thankful its Friday.. Whoop whoop. So before you go partying and other shenanigans (well some aren't 😂😝), let's ponder on 'Thank God its Friday' for me its 'thank God its another day'. The first 5 things I do when I wake up; *Open my eyes. *Think where am I? (I think therefore I am, lol,) - people who know a little philosophy would know this 😉 *Do a quick mental check of my body (some people sleep and lose a body function when they wake up) *Pee.. I always pee once I'm awake. Some people have a hard time peeing. *Then say 'Thank you Lord I'm awake' before I pick up my phone 😁 I'm thankful I can do this today, I'm thankful I can do this on Friday, I'm thankful I can witness another Friday.. Aren't you? Have an amazing Friday. With love, theInspiredCutiee 😘

Amy Schumer

She's the realest MVP!! There's nothing that can make this woman embarrassed.. Literally nothing.. She is so hilarious; to describe her as funny is underrating. I saw a clip of her on Ellen, and Ellen didn't even have anything to say, she just kept on laughing. I mean Ellen didn't have anything to say.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngFPBz_8SDc For you to be as hilarious as she is you have to be smart! She is the creator, co-producer, co-writer and star of the sketch comedy series; Inside Amy Schumer. She wrote and starred in the movie Trainwreck! My favorite movie of the year 2015! She's beautiful! She's real, I think I already said she's the realest MVP. To me she's the perfect girl.. She just makes me happy, Sigh. With love, theInspiredCutiee

1!!!

One week! Yaay!🎉 I like to write.. But I have been shy about showing my write-ups to the world. My friends and family have told me to maximize my talent, but I guess I wasn't really ready. But *drum roll* here we are; you reading what I wrote (hopefully does good than bad) and more to come by God's grace. 😁 Today's post is for anyone who has always wanted to do something but has been shy or scared (Biko not something diabolical, lol) Ask yourself 'what's the worst that can happen?' Or in lay man terms 'last last' For me the worst was that nobody would read it, or even if they do read, roll their eyes and be like 'do me a favor, please, gerraout of here menn, shii!' 😂 I'm actually happy I began. All you need is a step. One step at a time like Jordin Sparks sang, I wonder where she is sef?! Anyways not to digress. Baby steps people, and you'll get there. Practice they say makes perfect. I just might be the next James Patterson or No

Part 1

In one of his songs, Nathaniel Bassey described Zechariah 4:6 (Not by power, not by might, but by my Spirit; saith the Lord) as thus; So many of us have tried to fight addiction in the flesh, you've tried to stop that habit, you've tried to get out of that relationship, you've tried to break through, you've tried will power BUT its not by power not by might but by my Sprit saith the Lord. Hence the kick off of the series, (they don't follow each other in the traditional sense of series, think of it like American Horror Story Series) Part 1: ADDICTION Dictionary dot com defines it as the state of being enslaved to a habit, or practice or to something that is physiologically or physical habit-forming as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma. A couple of months back, my brother and I were arguing over 'habit' 'addiction' and 'obsession', which comes first?, which is difficult to break? and so much more. Can
Motivation Monday Every worker in Lagos, probably in the world, (hehe) hates Mondays.. Some say that if you hate Monday you have a shitty job but I don't think they are 100% right. Personally I belive Monday is a realization that the weekend (comfort zone) is over and that it won't come back till 5 working days are gone, that is heartbreaking.. Lol Anyways I guess as long as you are alive you can't escape Monday.. But caaman, cheer up, life is really not that serious..lol. Do you think dead people can hate Monday? Be grateful that you can! 😝 Enjoy your MONDAY! 💯 With love, theInspiredCutiee 😘 In the mean time, this picture is so me! 🙋🏻😂

End It?

I love the series 'How To Get Away With Murder' not necessarily because of its name or its characters or storyline but because I love very good series scripts and the above is definitely on my top ten list. I'm not about to rave about the series, lol, (you can go online, download it or go to the nearest DVD retail outlet and 'grab your copy now') but to talk about the advice Annalise Keating (played by Viola Davis) gave to Nate's Wife - Nia Lahey (who is dying of ovarian cancer in the show) Here's an excerpt from the episode: Nia: I want you to end it Annalise: I'm sorry? Nia: I want you to kill me Then after so much consideration and guilty conscience, here is how it went down: Annalise: I think about it a lot; killing myself, I have ever since I was a child, lot of times I think the world would be a much better place without me in it, but I don't do it. You are a better woman than me, and if I don't deserve to die then you definitel

Hope

A couple of days ago, my friend Lola (CEO 'Unravelling Nigeria) posted on her Instagram page, this post melted my heart and has sprouted a bud of hope in towards the future about my country Nigeria. This story is to encourage any Nigerian who has lost hope on our country, and being in the month in which we celebrated our 55th Independence I strongly believe that we are heading towards a glorious Nigeria. It might take a while (maybe not in my lifetime; if second coming of Jesus tarries) bottom line is don't lose HOPE! Here is what she wrote: *warning* possible epistle ahead. So I woke up wondering how I was possibly going to get through the day. Got into my car, heading for a meeting and I get stuck in traffic on that Apongbon Bridge. Worst part, my fuel tank was empty and it was raining. So I call this guy in the picture who was hawking drinks to ask him where I could find the nearest filling station and he sha told me. In my mind I'm like yup, this car is going t
I like to meet people who inspire me.. One of them is Abraham, in the HR department of Jumia. I messaged him a while back via LinkedIn and asked if there were any available positions in the HR department and he said the was only a vacancy for an intern and I went for an interview. That day on my way for the interview, I witnessed some lady get crushed by a vehicle on Ikorodu road. I was mortified and then began to reflect on my life. It could have been anyone I said.. What if she was going to work? Or had an interview like me? Anyways not to digress, lol, I wasn't feeling so up to the interview, I even got there late, in my mind I was like 'oh well what ever happens happens'. Then I got to meet him, honestly I'll rate myself a 3 for that interview because I didn't even try to impress. *covers face* But the reason for this post is the young man who interviewed me.. He said somethings about his personality that gave me a whole perspective on who I want to be.

UnExpected!

I recently began to read a book titled 'UnNamed' by Chris Travis and Nancy Karpenske. Its an amazing book (I'll recommend to anyone) which focuses on unsuspecting heroes singled out by God. In its first chapter, subtitled 'Unexpected' explicitly examines the story of Naaman and the slave girl in 2 Kings 5:1-14. The chapter began to talk about how most times we all live mundane and monotonous lifestyles..and sometimes we all want something unexpected to happen (good expectations though). We all want more. And it is in doing the unexpected that you often find heroism. Colossians 4:5 says 'make the most of every opportunity'. There is a story in the Bible about an everyday person who did something unexpected and it changed everything. The slave girl did the unexpected by 'speaking up', Naaman did the unexpected by 'dipping himself in the river 7 times' (he could have stopped at 5 and say I give up). These acts brought the worship of the Lord
I have so many things to post about. Lol.. Tye Tribbett's What Can I Do? is a song I play everyday to remind me that there really isn't ANYTHING I can do not WITHOUT GOD.. For me this sums the whole song up; I can't walk without you I can't talk without you I can't sing without you I'm nothing without you I can't live without you I can't breathe without you I can't be without you There's no me without you Think about it.. Really think about it.. With love, theInspiredCutiee
My pastor is one of my biggest inspiration.. He writes and this inspired me and I decided to share.. I hope you too are inspired. It is not possible to follow after Jesus intimately and still cling to your old ways and beliefs. Being a true disciple of Jesus Christ demands for your heart and mind to be wholly devoted to Christ. God expects and deserves nothing less than your undivided loyalty. This is one thing that endears God to your side and qualifies you to experience His loving kindness always. May the Lord help you to overcome everything that distracts you from yielding your whole life to Christ. Have a great day.... Refelect..

Psalm 8:4 says; what is Sola that you are mindful of her? Then verse 5-8 explains it saying; you made her a little lower than the angels and has crowned her with glory and honor. God has given her dominion over the works of His hands and has put ALL THINGS under her feet. This Psalm started in exaltation of God and his works, He saw that God was self sufficient, and then the writer said why man? Why me?! Are you feeling like why has God been good to me? Why does He love me? I'm a horrible person, I don't deserve to be loved, but yet His infinite mercies and grace seem to continue to shower me with favour and blessings.. Thank God for just that.. The fact that He is mindful of you, the fact that His mercies and grace haven't run out.. Many people don't thank God enough for his mercies and grace and love.. I urge you do that today.. With love, theInspiredCutiee😘
