I like to meet people who inspire me..
One of them is Abraham, in the HR department of Jumia.
I messaged him a while back via LinkedIn and asked if there were any available positions in the HR department and he said the was only a vacancy for an intern and I went for an interview.
That day on my way for the interview, I witnessed some lady get crushed by a vehicle on Ikorodu road. I was mortified and then began to reflect on my life. It could have been anyone I said.. What if she was going to work? Or had an interview like me?
Anyways not to digress, lol, I wasn't feeling so up to the interview, I even got there late, in my mind I was like 'oh well what ever happens happens'. Then I got to meet him, honestly I'll rate myself a 3 for that interview because I didn't even try to impress. *covers face*
But the reason for this post is the young man who interviewed me.. He said somethings about his personality that gave me a whole perspective on who I want to be.
Firstly, he said he's the only one who could diffuse any controversy between anyone in his organization with a conversation.. (I was like woww in my mind, but I just kept a straight face, lol). Then he said he can find anyone, anywhere, even within a short time of space..
Thirdly, he reads a hundred books every year.. I literally tried to calculate how many I read (I love to read) a year and I don't think it was hundred, lol, and here is a 'man', who has a job, (very busy one at that, because he gets to meet and hire people on the regular) and also keep up with his social life.
Then he writes a blog, and this is what got me.. He said in order to keep up with his blog he has to post EVERYDAY. And this requires discipline, I can't remember the exact figure of days he used but he has been posting ever since he started.
Also he said he is good at what he does.
He thought me that discipline is important not just for writing or reading, but for every aspect of life, and you must know what you want AND be good at it, preferably than 95% of people who can do what you can..
Even though I didn't get the job, he has inspired me.. And I hope this also inspires you.
Here's to Abraham.
With love, theInspiredCutiee 

Short story type of day

I wrote this while I was in church (please don't judge me , it just popped in my mind and I began to write) She felt something slowly tickle her face, she ignored it the first and second time, then it began to move more rapidly than before. She woke up in a startle, disoriented and wondered what could have been causing this, it felt like it was on her face, she touched her face and it was wet, 'what's this?' she asked herself because it was dark. She quickly jumped up and flicked the switch on.. She screamed when she saw it was blood! The small dark spot on her pillow and on her nightie (when she sat up) were both evidence that she was bleeding from her nose. 'No, no not again' she cried. 'This can't be happening again' she said! Then she quickly remembered she was to tilt her head up whenever her nose began to bleed, she tilted her head and waited a couple of minutes but it didn't stop. She began to panic because she was loosin...

Lauren Daigle

Lauren Daigle is a contemporary christian music singer. I absolutely love her voice. She speaks to your soul and situation.  Her music is exceptional; but my favorite two are: How Can It Be and Trust In You. The first time I heard 'How Can It Be' I was in tears.. Sigh.. Like I said she speaks to your situation. That moment of my life I felt inadequate of God's love and then I heard this song.  Just take a moment to look at the lyrics:  http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/laurendaigle/howcanitbe.html 'Trust in you' is nothing short of her amazing voice, again the lyrics blow me away. The chorus is always a reminder: When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move When You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through When You don’t give the answers as I cry out to You I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You! I always ask myself; can I still trust God when He doesn't give me the answers I want? Can I still be genuinely gra...

The Halo Effect

Are you exhibiting the halo effect? Do you buy products because of the celebrity representing it? Or stay in a relationship that is wrong because of one good quality? We are all attracted to people all the time. What attracts us to others? And what attracts you? When you meet someone for the first time you draw a conclusion about them, subconsciously you decide whether you like them or not. BUT is it possible that one trait or aspect of one's character can influence your perception about them? Honestly, I judge a person's character based on their physical appearance, its a quick judgment that is very likely inaccurate. The good thing is that once I begin to have a conversation, I realize there's more to the person than just physical looks. (Well that's for those that are actually more than their looks). The halo effect can cloud our judgment even when we know about it. When one good quality spills its appeal unto other elements of a per...
