Your Isaac

I always marvel at Abraham's faith. That man went through a lot. I ask myself if I'm capable of enduring one tenth of what he went through.. (Genesis 12 and 22)

After waiting for years for a child, God eventually gave him one, and then God said he should sacrifice him.. Every time I read this passage (Genesis 22:2) I take a pause, I'm like 'hollup hollup, whatasay??'. I'm always like God please don't give me such a test oh; because I'll legit fail. 😖

Notice in Gensis 22:1; says 'After all this, God tested Abraham' (The Message). Its clearly says after all what Abraham went through God tested him, test is in past tense; meaning when Abraham was encountering such it wasn't a test for him. We read it now as a test; but for him it was life, real life! Not African Magic or Telemundo.. Lol.

What's your Isaac I ask?
It doesn't have to be your child.. Lol. It can be your time, your communion with God, or time with other believers, your resources, your beauty, your knowledge. Anything that seems dear and is taking the position of God in your life; The Number One position.
My 'ALL' should be ME. He is interested in me. My relationship with him.

Trust me, its not easy, I'm not there yet. I believe mine is Time. I usually don't prioritize what I do with my time. And time is a gift from God, the 24 hours you and I get is a gift.

I pray you are brave like Abraham and receive grace to give up your Isaac when He 'test' you.
Have a lovely day.

With love, theInspiredCutiee 😘

Short story type of day

I wrote this while I was in church (please don't judge me , it just popped in my mind and I began to write) She felt something slowly tickle her face, she ignored it the first and second time, then it began to move more rapidly than before. She woke up in a startle, disoriented and wondered what could have been causing this, it felt like it was on her face, she touched her face and it was wet, 'what's this?' she asked herself because it was dark. She quickly jumped up and flicked the switch on.. She screamed when she saw it was blood! The small dark spot on her pillow and on her nightie (when she sat up) were both evidence that she was bleeding from her nose. 'No, no not again' she cried. 'This can't be happening again' she said! Then she quickly remembered she was to tilt her head up whenever her nose began to bleed, she tilted her head and waited a couple of minutes but it didn't stop. She began to panic because she was loosin...

Lauren Daigle

Lauren Daigle is a contemporary christian music singer. I absolutely love her voice. She speaks to your soul and situation.  Her music is exceptional; but my favorite two are: How Can It Be and Trust In You. The first time I heard 'How Can It Be' I was in tears.. Sigh.. Like I said she speaks to your situation. That moment of my life I felt inadequate of God's love and then I heard this song.  Just take a moment to look at the lyrics:  http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/laurendaigle/howcanitbe.html 'Trust in you' is nothing short of her amazing voice, again the lyrics blow me away. The chorus is always a reminder: When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move When You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through When You don’t give the answers as I cry out to You I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You! I always ask myself; can I still trust God when He doesn't give me the answers I want? Can I still be genuinely gra...

The Halo Effect

Are you exhibiting the halo effect? Do you buy products because of the celebrity representing it? Or stay in a relationship that is wrong because of one good quality? We are all attracted to people all the time. What attracts us to others? And what attracts you? When you meet someone for the first time you draw a conclusion about them, subconsciously you decide whether you like them or not. BUT is it possible that one trait or aspect of one's character can influence your perception about them? Honestly, I judge a person's character based on their physical appearance, its a quick judgment that is very likely inaccurate. The good thing is that once I begin to have a conversation, I realize there's more to the person than just physical looks. (Well that's for those that are actually more than their looks). The halo effect can cloud our judgment even when we know about it. When one good quality spills its appeal unto other elements of a per...
