Part 1

In one of his songs, Nathaniel Bassey described Zechariah 4:6 (Not by power, not by might, but by my Spirit; saith the Lord) as thus; So many of us have tried to fight addiction in the flesh, you've tried to stop that habit, you've tried to get out of that relationship, you've tried to break through, you've tried will power BUT its not by power not by might but by my Sprit saith the Lord.
Hence the kick off of the series, (they don't follow each other in the traditional sense of series, think of it like American Horror Story Series)
Part 1: ADDICTION
Dictionary dot com defines it as the state of being enslaved to a habit, or practice or to something that is physiologically or physical habit-forming as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.
A couple of months back, my brother and I were arguing over 'habit' 'addiction' and 'obsession', which comes first?, which is difficult to break? and so much more. Can't remember who eventually won, but I think we concluded that first comes habit, then obsession then addiction.
I used to think it was only white people who battle with addiction, lol, probably I was focusing on addiction to drugs. But addiction is a very broad topic, (and I'm no expert).
Pondering on that, I believe as human beings we all have one addiction or the other, (not a 100% sure though, please dont abuse me yet, lol) I am addicted to my phone; like the definition said its cessation can cause a trauma; if something happens to my phone I can literally fall ill. I have a hard time letting go of phones, or even my laptop. When my laptop was bad I was very very sad, (emotionally and physically), though its fixed now, I get comments like 'you should get a new one though' but I'm like 'naah I'm good.'
At some point I began to be worried, because phones have expiry dates and if I was continually going to feel like this every time my phone gets bad then it is a problem. I thought this was a physically fight.. Haha.. Until I decided to invite God into my matter. I'm still a work in progress, but I have definitely gotten better.
Yours may not be phone addiction, it may be sex, alcohol, or even drugs, and kind of addiction sef, please invite God into the matter. OR it may not even be you that is going through this, perhaps someone you know, please share this with them.
God bless you.
With love, theInspiredCutiee 
More next Tuesday for Part 2.

Short story type of day

I wrote this while I was in church (please don't judge me , it just popped in my mind and I began to write) She felt something slowly tickle her face, she ignored it the first and second time, then it began to move more rapidly than before. She woke up in a startle, disoriented and wondered what could have been causing this, it felt like it was on her face, she touched her face and it was wet, 'what's this?' she asked herself because it was dark. She quickly jumped up and flicked the switch on.. She screamed when she saw it was blood! The small dark spot on her pillow and on her nightie (when she sat up) were both evidence that she was bleeding from her nose. 'No, no not again' she cried. 'This can't be happening again' she said! Then she quickly remembered she was to tilt her head up whenever her nose began to bleed, she tilted her head and waited a couple of minutes but it didn't stop. She began to panic because she was loosin...

Lauren Daigle

Lauren Daigle is a contemporary christian music singer. I absolutely love her voice. She speaks to your soul and situation.  Her music is exceptional; but my favorite two are: How Can It Be and Trust In You. The first time I heard 'How Can It Be' I was in tears.. Sigh.. Like I said she speaks to your situation. That moment of my life I felt inadequate of God's love and then I heard this song.  Just take a moment to look at the lyrics:  http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/laurendaigle/howcanitbe.html 'Trust in you' is nothing short of her amazing voice, again the lyrics blow me away. The chorus is always a reminder: When You don’t move the mountains I’m needing You to move When You don’t part the waters I wish I could walk through When You don’t give the answers as I cry out to You I will trust, I will trust, I will trust in You! I always ask myself; can I still trust God when He doesn't give me the answers I want? Can I still be genuinely gra...

The Halo Effect

Are you exhibiting the halo effect? Do you buy products because of the celebrity representing it? Or stay in a relationship that is wrong because of one good quality? We are all attracted to people all the time. What attracts us to others? And what attracts you? When you meet someone for the first time you draw a conclusion about them, subconsciously you decide whether you like them or not. BUT is it possible that one trait or aspect of one's character can influence your perception about them? Honestly, I judge a person's character based on their physical appearance, its a quick judgment that is very likely inaccurate. The good thing is that once I begin to have a conversation, I realize there's more to the person than just physical looks. (Well that's for those that are actually more than their looks). The halo effect can cloud our judgment even when we know about it. When one good quality spills its appeal unto other elements of a per...
