Try Out

I am not very good at poems; in fact, they are my least favorite form of literature. Although there are very good poets, PoeTolu is one of them, I love his poems. I was listening to Jon Bellion’s iRobot song and I decided to try and write a poem. Here:
PS: I tried to rhyme, and the lines increase per verse.

It is official
I am in a rut
I refuse to be social
My heart’s hard like rock

Love
I love
I used to love
I can’t love
I hate love

Cuts, cuts, cuts
I cut myself
My heart is cut
Tears caught up in my throat
I am deeply cut open
This cut is deep and wide

It is pitch dark
I see darkness
Brooding darkness
Darkness everywhere
I live with darkness
Day and night darkness looms
Never-ending darkness

D to the E to the A to the T to the H
Its stench is appealing
Death crawls up my skin
Death wraps his hand around my mind
‘Come, come my child’ it whispers
Slowly my essence begins to fade
Floating into the welcoming arms of death
And death grins.

With love,
TheInspiredCutiee 😘

Short story type of day

I wrote this while I was in church (please don't judge me , it just popped in my mind and I began to write) She felt something slowly tickle her face, she ignored it the first and second time, then it began to move more rapidly than before. She woke up in a startle, disoriented and wondered what could have been causing this, it felt like it was on her face, she touched her face and it was wet, 'what's this?' she asked herself because it was dark. She quickly jumped up and flicked the switch on.. She screamed when she saw it was blood! The small dark spot on her pillow and on her nightie (when she sat up) were both evidence that she was bleeding from her nose. 'No, no not again' she cried. 'This can't be happening again' she said! Then she quickly remembered she was to tilt her head up whenever her nose began to bleed, she tilted her head and waited a couple of minutes but it didn't stop. She began to panic because she was loosin...

List

As we countdown hours to the end of the year, in every corner there seem to be lists of things that happened this year; they maybe favorite or worsts, or top experiences or things that made history, sha lists. (you get my drift right?). I don't think I have sat down to draw up a 'list' well expect when I was applying for a job and they specifically said give 10 reasons why we should hire you. Yeah that happened. Lol. So I have been thinking, really thinking. A whole lot can happen in a year, emphasis on  'whole lot'. Except you write every detail of what happens daily and not miss a day (I wonder if there are people that are this deep) you are bound to forget some things. The movie 'INSIDE OUT' depicted how our mind works. (If you've seen it; you have an idea of what I'm talking about, if you've not I don't know what you are waiting for) There are too many things that have happened this year for me as an individual, in fact as a...

The Halo Effect

Are you exhibiting the halo effect? Do you buy products because of the celebrity representing it? Or stay in a relationship that is wrong because of one good quality? We are all attracted to people all the time. What attracts us to others? And what attracts you? When you meet someone for the first time you draw a conclusion about them, subconsciously you decide whether you like them or not. BUT is it possible that one trait or aspect of one's character can influence your perception about them? Honestly, I judge a person's character based on their physical appearance, its a quick judgment that is very likely inaccurate. The good thing is that once I begin to have a conversation, I realize there's more to the person than just physical looks. (Well that's for those that are actually more than their looks). The halo effect can cloud our judgment even when we know about it. When one good quality spills its appeal unto other elements of a per...
