Seasons - Hillsong

In case you don’t know, music is one of my inspirations; good music is therapeutic, good music is food for the soul and mind, in colloquial terms – music is the Inspired Cutiee’s bae! Good music entails beautifully written lyrics, (as clichéd as it may sound; words are everything) good rhythm and beat, (you just can’t help but fall in love with the blend and synchronisation of time and sound, it is literally magical) and of course abundant harmony of voice or voices. Well, this is my definition of good music, argue with your two left legs *walks away* Whenever I stumble on good music (perhaps it’s not a stumble – hmm notes to self) these things happen: ·           I can’t help but share how it teleports me to another realm ·          Scream it at the top of my lungs ·          Basically just keep it on repeat ·          ...

Ineffable Love

Today is exactly three weeks after Valentine’s day, wow, time flies – what you got to do, do quick! Lol. I wrote this poem for Valentine’s day, (I’m not a believer of the day oh, just a believer of God’s not-boxed-to-one-day-celebration-love) ironically that morning, my mom was talking on Christ’s love as the apex typa of love, (tbh, she does this speech every Val’s day; perhaps she does because she doesn’t want me and my siblings to be swayed by the grand gestures people adopt on this day and her best tactic is to remind us of His love) so, Mom, relazz, we know this *wink* I urge you to be reminded, thought provoked and most importantly inspired by His Love: I thought Hillsong had my heart until I met Bethel Bethel literally and figuratively makes me tear up Reckless love is the theme ‘Oh the over-whelming, never-ending, reckless love of God’ ‘Oh it chases me down, fights till I am found, leaves the 99’ I ask, how can you have 99 and still chase 1? ‘The...

PSALM 103 VERSE 2

Today is Friyay the 30 th of September 2016, this means ·          the end the working week ·          the end of another month in 2016, ·          the end of the 9 th month, ·          tomorrow is October 1 st , Nigeria’s Independence ·          it is also someone’s birthday lol I want you to take few minutes and reflect; (I already did that this morning so I won’t be a hypocrite) try and think about your first day in this year and other days that have passed (I doubt you’ll be able to remember everything that happened except if you had a journal, and most journals contain only memorable events). Think of goals you set out to achieve; the ones you did, the ones you didn’t, friends you’ve made and the ones you’ve lost. Trust me a ...

Dear God,

Dear God, Its your baby girl from Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. West Africa. Africa. Earth. I know you are there. I know you always, always hear me. Even if I whisper. I'm sad. I'm clueless. I'm lost. I'm terrified. I'm tired. But I know you know all these. Because you are God. Please don't leave me to myself. I'm sorry if I may have run ahead of you, or deliberately lagged behind. I'm sorry if I have become highminded of myself and pushed you aside. I'm sorry if I haven't respected you at any time of my day. I'm sorry for consciously ignoring all your beacons to come back to you. I'm sorry for saying, thinking and doing what you've made clear that you don't like. I'm sorry that when you looked down from Heaven and saw me, you couldn't smile. I'm sorry for not making you proud. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.. I'm sorry... I can't remember the last time I heard your Spirit talk to me. I can't re...

Double blessings: burden or gifts?

Everyone knows this Gospel Nigerian song (although I'm sure half of us don't know the originator of the song) that goes like this: 'Everything na double double, na double double.' Some people even add triple or fourple to it.. Hehe I have this pastor that says ' when double wahala comes you people should know you asked for double of everything oh'.. Haha. Today in church; someone was praying for me, she said ' God would embarss you with blessings, I'm not joking, He would grant you multiple blessings, give you fourple blessings'. Someone over heard this last line of the conversation and said 'like quadruplets'.. I literally laughed out loud, I was like abeg oh.. Then the person said 'ah don't laugh, at least your mommy kuku likes kids, she would help you'. In which I replied and said 'she must be the one that would carry them and nurse them'.. I'm sure you are wondering 'where am I going with this?' Lol. We...
