Sunday Special

I'm a lover of art.
The mere fact of picking up a pen and sketching something amazing always has me in awe. And what's more amazing about Obinna is that he didn't even study this in school, he has a gift!

Today's post is on Obinna Omeruo!

Fashion can never go out of fashion (pun intended lol), this however doesn't streamline his designs to fashion only. He's an embodiment of artistic designs.

I got curious about what he does so I asked him a couple of questions:
*What brought about this idea and in what year? The idea came from a need to express myself but at the same time add value to my surroundings. There was a need and I jumped right in. I would say 2010 because that was the first time I got payed for a project.

*I'm sure you've had challenge or two, care to share?
Lol! Like all entrepreneurial endeavors especially in Nigeria I face capital funding.

*How has the growth been generally?
Its been a steady growth which I thank God for. We also try to add new tricks here and there to keep our visuals alive. Doing things differently per time is a good way to ensure growth especially in the creative industry.

*The brand's driver?
The brand is driven by visual communication. Communication from designers to buyers, business owners to clientele etc. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so why don't I create amazing pictures that helps the brand to speak more.

*Illustrators emerge everyday, what set's you apart from them?
That's so easy. Everything sets us apart. Our thinking, our styles, our application...

*Do/did you ever feel like giving up? How do/did you get past it?
Yes I do feel like giving up when faced with challenges but I get spiritual encouragement and carry on. Besides its NOT life if everything is flatline smooth.

*There are people who look up to you, any word of advice? I would say your dreams are valid but take a cue from Joseph, grow a thick skin to survive the harsh days.

Here's one for the Game of Thrones fans!:

Emma Gonzalez

I am usually all for honesty; I wrote this piece for one the blogs I feature in, but apparently it couldn’t fly because it didn’t centre on an African, (which is good, we got to celebrate Africa). ‘No worries', I said to myself, 'I wrote it, Emma Gonzalez inspires me, so, ama share it here'… While valentine’s festivities for the year was in the air, students of Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida were experiencing the most memorable days of their youthful lives; a fellow student of the above named school went on a rage and killed seventeen people. Seventeen lives were lost because one unstable person had his hands on a weapon of destruction. This event is not just a traumatic one for those involved, but more of an uproar; come on, its rational for anyone in this situation to be livid. Having seen clips of the incident, watched the town hall meeting aired by CNN, read tributes, speeches, and the ever trending hashtags #WeCallBS #NotAgain, it’s amazi...

Welcome to March!

March in my opinion simply means purpose, when you march you are heading somewhere, it’s like a movement to something there, so, the Inspired Cutiee’s theme for this month is Purpose. March is the third month, the number three is also a very significant number; Jesus’s three days from crucifixion to death to resurrection, The Trinity of our faith, etc. For all I know, you probably have some symbolic attachment to the number three. PS: I want three children, hehe. I have so many plans laid out; I want to literally march to lose weight, I want to complete a project I’m working on then kick start the next, so many to enumerate… But again, I refuse to be overwhelmed, I have the best support system. This month is the best month yet! However, these are some tips for conquering this Third Purposeful Month: 1.      Always ask yourself why; Why am I doing whatever I am doing; because the answer to this why directs you to a goal/end (either negative or ...

Your Isaac

I always marvel at Abraham's faith. That man went through a lot. I ask myself if I'm capable of enduring one tenth of what he went through.. (Genesis 12 and 22) After waiting for years for a child, God eventually gave him one, and then God said he should sacrifice him.. Every time I read this passage (Genesis 22:2) I take a pause, I'm like 'hollup hollup, whatasay??'. I'm always like God please don't give me such a test oh; because I'll legit fail. 😖 Notice in Gensis 22:1; says 'After all this, God tested Abraham' (The Message). Its clearly says after all what Abraham went through God tested him, test is in past tense; meaning when Abraham was encountering such it wasn't a test for him. We read it now as a test; but for him it was life, real life! Not African Magic or Telemundo.. Lol. What's your Isaac I ask? It doesn't have to be your child.. Lol. It can be your time, your communion with God, or time with other belie...
