Underestimate Prayer?

A lot of arguments have risen due to the fact that Nigerians have been hashtagging #PrayforParis, saying that they haven't even taken time out to pray for their own country.

In my opinion Chris Travis says it all:
The problems in the world are so profound that our efforts seem futile. The world is broken. Wars and genocides are like a cancer that can't be beaten. Peace is short-lived - just a remission, really before the violence flares up again. The issues of poverty are so complicated that few agree even on how to help. Most scientists concur that climate shift is in progress, but there is almost no consensus on its causes or what we can do about it.

Honestly, if you are attempting to change the world in your own strength, there may be not much use.
You are probably thinking with so much suffering in the world, what could I possibly do about it? Or is it worth trying?
Despite that! You have a crucial part to play. God knows what He's doing, and He's working things out for the best. If you OFFER what you can, you'll be amazed at what He can use you to do. Don't underestimate Him.

The unfortunate thing is some people are not ready to play their part; a word of encouragement, a prayer for someone, or money contribution sounds 'too small to bother or it won't be missed if left undone'.
Its so tempting to underestimate the impact that we can have or the difference a particular deed can make.

Our tiny little offerings may just be a drop in the bucket - a drop in an ocean of need. One drop won't change the ocean but consider the ripple effect!

Don't doubt your contribution and don't underestimate Jesus!

So please Pray for Nigeria , Pray for Paris, just pray. And remember you have a role to play.
God bless you.

Short story type of day

I wrote this while I was in church (please don't judge me , it just popped in my mind and I began to write) She felt something slowly tickle her face, she ignored it the first and second time, then it began to move more rapidly than before. She woke up in a startle, disoriented and wondered what could have been causing this, it felt like it was on her face, she touched her face and it was wet, 'what's this?' she asked herself because it was dark. She quickly jumped up and flicked the switch on.. She screamed when she saw it was blood! The small dark spot on her pillow and on her nightie (when she sat up) were both evidence that she was bleeding from her nose. 'No, no not again' she cried. 'This can't be happening again' she said! Then she quickly remembered she was to tilt her head up whenever her nose began to bleed, she tilted her head and waited a couple of minutes but it didn't stop. She began to panic because she was loosin...

The Halo Effect

Are you exhibiting the halo effect? Do you buy products because of the celebrity representing it? Or stay in a relationship that is wrong because of one good quality? We are all attracted to people all the time. What attracts us to others? And what attracts you? When you meet someone for the first time you draw a conclusion about them, subconsciously you decide whether you like them or not. BUT is it possible that one trait or aspect of one's character can influence your perception about them? Honestly, I judge a person's character based on their physical appearance, its a quick judgment that is very likely inaccurate. The good thing is that once I begin to have a conversation, I realize there's more to the person than just physical looks. (Well that's for those that are actually more than their looks). The halo effect can cloud our judgment even when we know about it. When one good quality spills its appeal unto other elements of a per...
