Society and one of its ills

This post started off as a rant, but then I decided why just rant? Critic the ill, but also share lessons you’ve amassed overtime. Remember, this month is the month of purpose, why rant and not have a purpose?

I usually say, ‘everyone has an opinion, all it takes to be swayed to the other side – is good argument. Daz all!

I can start a movement on ‘School should be optional, because these days an individual can ‘’blow’’ without the four walls of a classroom’, yes I’ll have followers, but then TeamEducationForAll would rise and protest with their POV, and then the debate would begin. *yawn* it is an endless vicious cycle.

Today’s rant is all about Single. Singleness. Single persons. Single not in a relationship.

Who dictates social media? People! Societies are made of people. It is funny that social media has a way of dragging one down ehn, but then again, its social media, we still need her (yes, social media is female), ironically I read three different articles that day, three! All highlighting this issue of singleness. What a wawu!

That’s why I was angry, but then again, perhaps my phone is actually smart because once I read the first article, it suggested the next, then the next. So, lets blame this rant on my phone. Lol.

The first was BankyW'sComebackToAFan who asked ‘Where is your ring?’ (okay, yes, this individual was obviously being nosey and perhaps silly, but come on, that comeback was unnecessary) he responded with ‘where is your husband?’ and everyone began to cheer him. *ayam confused*

The next article was from BusinessInsiderByPulse, I was shook; well, it is for enlightenment, (at least now I know what happens in Denmark when you are 25 and unmarried) but people are deep sha.

The third was from PunchNG, okay, that one was a tad hilarious because I was like ‘hian oh! Odikwa very serious for this single stigma’.

On a more serious note, society has termed the single phase ‘negative’. Which is why I am going to begin a series on the topic. So, yeah, watch this space!

 With love,
TheInspiredCutiee 😘

Short story type of day

I wrote this while I was in church (please don't judge me , it just popped in my mind and I began to write) She felt something slowly tickle her face, she ignored it the first and second time, then it began to move more rapidly than before. She woke up in a startle, disoriented and wondered what could have been causing this, it felt like it was on her face, she touched her face and it was wet, 'what's this?' she asked herself because it was dark. She quickly jumped up and flicked the switch on.. She screamed when she saw it was blood! The small dark spot on her pillow and on her nightie (when she sat up) were both evidence that she was bleeding from her nose. 'No, no not again' she cried. 'This can't be happening again' she said! Then she quickly remembered she was to tilt her head up whenever her nose began to bleed, she tilted her head and waited a couple of minutes but it didn't stop. She began to panic because she was loosin...

The Halo Effect

Are you exhibiting the halo effect? Do you buy products because of the celebrity representing it? Or stay in a relationship that is wrong because of one good quality? We are all attracted to people all the time. What attracts us to others? And what attracts you? When you meet someone for the first time you draw a conclusion about them, subconsciously you decide whether you like them or not. BUT is it possible that one trait or aspect of one's character can influence your perception about them? Honestly, I judge a person's character based on their physical appearance, its a quick judgment that is very likely inaccurate. The good thing is that once I begin to have a conversation, I realize there's more to the person than just physical looks. (Well that's for those that are actually more than their looks). The halo effect can cloud our judgment even when we know about it. When one good quality spills its appeal unto other elements of a per...
