A couple of days ago, my friend Lola (CEO 'Unravelling Nigeria) posted on her Instagram page, this post melted my heart and has sprouted a bud of hope in towards the future about my country Nigeria.
This story is to encourage any Nigerian who has lost hope on our country, and being in the month in which we celebrated our 55th Independence I strongly believe that we are heading towards a glorious Nigeria. It might take a while (maybe not in my lifetime; if second coming of Jesus tarries) bottom line is don't lose HOPE!

Here is what she wrote:
*warning* possible epistle ahead.
So I woke up wondering how I was possibly going to get through the day.
Got into my car, heading for a meeting and I get stuck in traffic on that Apongbon Bridge. Worst part, my fuel tank was empty and it was raining.
So I call this guy in the picture who was hawking drinks to ask him where I could find the nearest filling station and he sha told me. In my mind I'm like yup, this car is going to die on this bridge today.
I thank him, and buy a drink from him so that it wouldn't look like I just wasted his time.
He looked at me, smiled and said 'just hope, your car will get you there', and he left. I just thought 'whatever men, what do you know'
5 mins later, this same guy returns to my car, asks me if I have a jerry can in the boot so that he can trek to the filling station and buy me fuel.
Dropped his wares in my car and walked under the rain so he could help me out. When he finally returned he looked for a bottle and helped me pour the fuel into my car.
I know this is one of those RARE amazing occurrences but good, helpful, honest people do exist in Lagos and they may not look like you and I do. And sometimes the people who'll go out on a limb for you are those you think can't do anything for you.☺ Singular act cheered me up today.
Guess God was just showing me He's still got me.

She said it all. People like Lola's stranger exist, and you too can be like him in your own little way.
If one by one we decide to change our country's image by one solo act of kindness, our country would move forward.
Please don't wait till your neighbor makes a move, be the initiator of change.
God bless you.
