I like to meet people who inspire me..
One of them is Abraham, in the HR department of Jumia.
I messaged him a while back via LinkedIn and asked if there were any available positions in the HR department and he said the was only a vacancy for an intern and I went for an interview.
That day on my way for the interview, I witnessed some lady get crushed by a vehicle on Ikorodu road. I was mortified and then began to reflect on my life. It could have been anyone I said.. What if she was going to work? Or had an interview like me?
Anyways not to digress, lol, I wasn't feeling so up to the interview, I even got there late, in my mind I was like 'oh well what ever happens happens'. Then I got to meet him, honestly I'll rate myself a 3 for that interview because I didn't even try to impress. *covers face*
But the reason for this post is the young man who interviewed me.. He said somethings about his personality that gave me a whole perspective on who I want to be.
Firstly, he said he's the only one who could diffuse any controversy between anyone in his organization with a conversation.. (I was like woww in my mind, but I just kept a straight face, lol). Then he said he can find anyone, anywhere, even within a short time of space..
Thirdly, he reads a hundred books every year.. I literally tried to calculate how many I read (I love to read) a year and I don't think it was hundred, lol, and here is a 'man', who has a job, (very busy one at that, because he gets to meet and hire people on the regular) and also keep up with his social life.
Then he writes a blog, and this is what got me.. He said in order to keep up with his blog he has to post EVERYDAY. And this requires discipline, I can't remember the exact figure of days he used but he has been posting ever since he started.
Also he said he is good at what he does.
He thought me that discipline is important not just for writing or reading, but for every aspect of life, and you must know what you want AND be good at it, preferably than 95% of people who can do what you can..
Even though I didn't get the job, he has inspired me.. And I hope this also inspires you.
Here's to Abraham.
With love, theInspiredCutiee 

Emma Gonzalez

I am usually all for honesty; I wrote this piece for one the blogs I feature in, but apparently it couldn’t fly because it didn’t centre on an African, (which is good, we got to celebrate Africa). ‘No worries', I said to myself, 'I wrote it, Emma Gonzalez inspires me, so, ama share it here'… While valentine’s festivities for the year was in the air, students of Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida were experiencing the most memorable days of their youthful lives; a fellow student of the above named school went on a rage and killed seventeen people. Seventeen lives were lost because one unstable person had his hands on a weapon of destruction. This event is not just a traumatic one for those involved, but more of an uproar; come on, its rational for anyone in this situation to be livid. Having seen clips of the incident, watched the town hall meeting aired by CNN, read tributes, speeches, and the ever trending hashtags #WeCallBS #NotAgain, it’s amazi...

Star Struck!

Hmmm… My people, na so I see my celebrity crushes… Na so I stand at attention Na so my mouth no gree move Na so I just dey look Chai! My brain no even boot to take picture… Na so I dull! Ha-ha! I wrote this poem on the spur of writing this post. I should actually give you the gist… Scene 1 I needed to use the ATM, so, I decided to go the nearest one around my office, I said to myself ‘this won’t take time, no need to carry phone’, that’s how I left my phone in the office oh. I got to the ATM, there were a couple of people, so I joined the queue, that’s how a black jeep rolled into the parking lot. Enter Nathaniel Bassey… I opened my eyes with surprise, (if you read my posts, you know Nathaniel is BAE!) and began to wonder why no one was screaming and acting all giddy. ‘Is the ATM working’ he asked. ME!!! He spoke to ME!!! I couldn’t even answer I just shook my head because I was too mesmerised. God bless you, I am...

Society and one of its ills

This post started off as a rant, but then I decided why just rant? Critic the ill, but also share lessons you’ve amassed overtime. Remember, this month is the month of purpose, why rant and not have a purpose? I usually say, ‘everyone has an opinion, all it takes to be swayed to the other side – is good argument. Daz all! I can start a movement on ‘School should be optional, because these days an individual can ‘’blow’’ without the four walls of a classroom’, yes I’ll have followers, but then TeamEducationForAll would rise and protest with their POV, and then the debate would begin. *yawn* it is an endless vicious cycle. Today’s rant is all about Single. Singleness. Single persons. Single not in a relationship. Who dictates social media? People! Societies are made of people. It is funny that social media has a way of dragging one down ehn, but then again, its social media, we still need her (yes, social media is female), ironically I read three different articles...
