Simply Average:

I'm not too good at yelling
I don't like whispering
I play the drums but not very good at it
I sing too but hide behind the beautifully robed choir
I lie but only when pushed to the wire
I get caught because its really not my desire
Football is my passion too..but I don't play beyond my streets
Photography oh! I love photography
But I never pursued a carried in it
The only pictures I ever took, was of a few friends who tried to cook, a meal that turned out rather disastrous
I hear comments like;
Oh its nice! You are good at it! You will make a great singer....blah blah blah
I lazy around in bed
Never paying attention to what anyone has said.
I find myself sitting at the back at this great concert
Looking at the possibilities of all I could have become.
I could have been perfect
I could have been great
Somebody wake me up and tell me its not too late
Maybe I'm good, maybe I could be better But surely right now I'm 'Simply Average'

I love the series 'How To Get Away With Murder' not necessarily because of its name or its characters or storyline but because I love very good series scripts and the above is definitely on my top ten list. In one of his songs, Nathaniel Bassey described Zechariah 4:6 (Not by power, not by might, but by my Spirit; saith the Lord) as thus; So many of us have tried to fight addiction in the flesh, you've tried to stop that habit, you've tried to get out of that relationship, you've tried to break through, you've tried will power BUT its not by power not by might but by my Sprit saith the Lord.
