Poor People

Leviticus 23:22 according to the message says: When you reap the harvest of your land, don't reap the corners of your field or gather the gleanings. Leave them for the poor and the foreigners. I am God, your God."

There would always be poor people among us. Its nature. We can't remove them. But we can help them.

Some months back, I was talking to a group of teenagers, I asked them who can we call poor?. One said 'anyone who looks like a skrep' (he was the group's joker), another said 'someone who dresses badly, like when their clothes are torn' (kanye do you hear that? Lol), another said 'someone who doesn't have money'.. And some others I can't remember right now. They may not be hundred percent right.. But there are some factors about poor people that they mentioned.

I know part of the five alms of Islam is to give to the poor. We shouldn't leave that task for them alone.. Everyone should pitch in; whatever religion you practice. It should be a humanistic effort.

Chris Travis said 'it sounds preposterous, but its true Jesus left us to do his work when He went to Heaven. You and me, with all of our foolishness and sin.

Don't just do good to only people you know. Some excuses might be 'I don't have money', poor people don't need ONLY money.(totally agree money is a very huge factor by the way) Funny thing is that there's something deposited in everyone of us. Yours might be money, another person's might be a smile, or knowledge, or clothing. Anything. Just give.

P.S: Be thankful you have something to give. 😉

With love, the InspiredCutiee 😘

Short story type of day

I wrote this while I was in church (please don't judge me , it just popped in my mind and I began to write) She felt something slowly tickle her face, she ignored it the first and second time, then it began to move more rapidly than before. She woke up in a startle, disoriented and wondered what could have been causing this, it felt like it was on her face, she touched her face and it was wet, 'what's this?' she asked herself because it was dark. She quickly jumped up and flicked the switch on.. She screamed when she saw it was blood! The small dark spot on her pillow and on her nightie (when she sat up) were both evidence that she was bleeding from her nose. 'No, no not again' she cried. 'This can't be happening again' she said! Then she quickly remembered she was to tilt her head up whenever her nose began to bleed, she tilted her head and waited a couple of minutes but it didn't stop. She began to panic because she was loosin...

The Halo Effect

Are you exhibiting the halo effect? Do you buy products because of the celebrity representing it? Or stay in a relationship that is wrong because of one good quality? We are all attracted to people all the time. What attracts us to others? And what attracts you? When you meet someone for the first time you draw a conclusion about them, subconsciously you decide whether you like them or not. BUT is it possible that one trait or aspect of one's character can influence your perception about them? Honestly, I judge a person's character based on their physical appearance, its a quick judgment that is very likely inaccurate. The good thing is that once I begin to have a conversation, I realize there's more to the person than just physical looks. (Well that's for those that are actually more than their looks). The halo effect can cloud our judgment even when we know about it. When one good quality spills its appeal unto other elements of a per...
