Monday Monday

Life is periodically hard and it will attempt to break your resolve to trust God. Its a subtle process, especially when you've prayed and aren't seeing any change. You just gotta ask for grace. Especially in this Nigeria; when there's light issues, petrol issues, traffic, I can go on. This week would be great! Can I get an Amen???

Kolade Series

Simply Average : I'm not too good at yelling I don't like whispering I play the drums but not very good at it I sing too but hide behind the beautifully robed choir I lie but only when pushed to the wire I get caught because its really not my desire Football is my passion too..but I don't play beyond my streets Photography oh! I love photography But I never pursued a carried in it The only pictures I ever took, was of a few friends who tried to cook, a meal that turned out rather disastrous I hear comments like; Oh its nice! You are good at it! You will make a great singer....blah blah blah I lazy around in bed Never paying attention to what anyone has said. I find myself sitting at the back at this great concert Looking at the possibilities of all I could have become. I could have been perfect I could have been great Somebody wake me up and tell me its not too late Maybe I'm good, maybe I could be better But surely right now I'm 'Simply Ave...

Short story type of day

Wham! Wham!! Wham!!! With every whip she shuddered, her mother told her not to come out of the closet, but she couldn't take it anymore. She knew if HE saw her she would regret it. But she just had to know the fate of her mother! She took caution to slightly open the door without any noise, stepped out of the closet. Tiptoed towards the door of the room, turned the door knob; it made a little creak noise, she peeped through the small opening, saw a shadow. Could that be her HIS or her mom's? She asked herself. She quietly pushed the door open again; it creaked a little, but this time the sound stopped. She saw a shadow turn and walk towards the sound. She closed her eyes, tried to hold her breath, and hoped that it wasn't HIM coming towards her. A minute passed, and as she opened her eyes, wham! was the last thing she heard as she slowly fell to the floor; deep down her soul she heard a voice saying 'You should have stayed in the closet' With love, theInspire...

TGIF

Silently says TGIF! Today was very rough.. And it began when I woke up at 4 and found out my phone fell from a high vintage point (thankful the screen didn't break sha) it affected the sim slot but it's alright now, to the mad mainland traffic and I couldn't purchase stuff because sales today are on another level because black Friday.. The highlight of my day was like an hour ago, I think I have met the most hilarious old people! The tricycle or keke marua I entered conveyed the most radical old Nigerians. I can't even begin to write all they said; majority of it was in pidgin sef. They all didn't know each other, but their conversation was so funny (they were tackling the driver, at some point the driver (an old man too oh!) was like they should come down because he had probably never encountered such passengers!) I was just observing and laughing. I guess God taught me a lesson that no matter what happens or is happening there's always a reason to smile. ...

Kolade Series

Today is Thanksgiving!!! Thanksgiving shouldn't be restricted to one day or a particular month, it should be done daily! Well in celebration of this day, *drum rolls* here is one of Kolade's master piece. Enjoy! THANKSGIVING Is it in plenty? Is it in few Is it in the things that we have brand new Is it in sickness?! Is it in health?! Is it in the pain that I once felt?! For the family that surround me For the Problems that thought they bound me For the Love of Christ that found me For the long hours spent in the labour room For the cry of a new born baby For the husband who stood by her daily To the beggar on the street who could hardly find meat to eat To the young man who just lost his Job and now finds it hard to make ends meet For the happy times we spent at the beach For the million dollar winning speech To the pastor who stands every Sunday to preach To everyone out there searching for a reason to be grateful For all the things that could have made ...

Rant!

I don't understand the type of men being bred today. This morning I entered a 'keke napep' or tricycle and it takes four people (in Lagos, because the extra cash is important, I don't know about other parts of the country though) it was some woman and I waiting for two more people. And luckily two people came, a school girl and a young man. And you know what happened? This 'agbaya' of a man went to take the seat at the back and the young girl said she couldn't seat in front. The driver now had to beg the man to please kindly seat in front. To be honest if I had known he was going to beg him I would have gone to sit there myself. *hiss* Some 30 minutes later, in another bus, the lady at the last row of the bus had reached her destination, the man who sat closest to the door refused to open the door, said the driver (there wasn't any conductor) should do it. Imagine?? Wasting everyone's time! Not that I support women being treated as helpless being...

Part 1

Today I begin a new series titled Experiencing Love. The story is found in Luke 15:11-24 The first step is to Give Out: In the story, the father gave the son his inheritance. Despite contrary opinions that the son shouldn't have asked or his manner of asking was wrong. The first step in experiencing love is to be a giver. This can't be overemphasized. Its more blessed to give! God has given you so much, so much I say. There even somethings you don't realize He has given you. This season is one of thanksgiving (thanks and giving). Please I urge you to give something this week. It can be money, your time, your love, your food, your clothes, your smile, just Give! #ExperiencingLove #EL #GiveOut God bless you. With love, theInspiredCutiee 😘
