ON MY OWN

I'm not able to stand without falling
I'm not able to fly without crashing
I can't seem to make it on my own
Every relationship I build seems to fall apart
Every care I give seems to tear me apart
But hold on a second!!
I claim to be a believer
I claim I have given all to the saviour
I should be living a life of luxury
I should actually be the best I'm supposed to be
What did I do wrong
Oh "I" need to be strong!
But you see!!
That's the problem
Its not about "I"
Its not about "me"
Its about the one whose greater than "I"
All this while "I" have been missing the point
Jesus died so "I" could be free
He died so "I" could be "we"
Now I believe
Now I receive
Now I know He lives inside of me
I can live freely
Because "I"am no longer "On My Own"

I love the series 'How To Get Away With Murder' not necessarily because of its name or its characters or storyline but because I love very good series scripts and the above is definitely on my top ten list. In one of his songs, Nathaniel Bassey described Zechariah 4:6 (Not by power, not by might, but by my Spirit; saith the Lord) as thus; So many of us have tried to fight addiction in the flesh, you've tried to stop that habit, you've tried to get out of that relationship, you've tried to break through, you've tried will power BUT its not by power not by might but by my Sprit saith the Lord.
