Short story type of day

I have had really rough days. I wrote this sometime in July when I was trying out my emo poet phase.

Sadness is the order of the day.. Some say it's called ennui.. Boredom at its peak.. Time seems endless.. Thoughts keep flying round and round more like racing... Depression..

Like Ace Hood sang 'same old shit just a different day' that was the routine..

Nothing seemed exciting;
Food seemed bland just eating to say alive..
TV was just people moving around in the box.. Communication with others was more of a gruesome task than a relationship..
Sleeping seemed like the only thing to do (even though it came easy, it was always filled with nightmares from the ever racing thoughts)..

Dark corners and rooms seemed to bring peace because the sun or light brought annoyance and reality of life..

Yeah like I said dark times.

With love, the InspiredCutiee 😘

Emma Gonzalez

I am usually all for honesty; I wrote this piece for one the blogs I feature in, but apparently it couldn’t fly because it didn’t centre on an African, (which is good, we got to celebrate Africa). ‘No worries', I said to myself, 'I wrote it, Emma Gonzalez inspires me, so, ama share it here'… While valentine’s festivities for the year was in the air, students of Majory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida were experiencing the most memorable days of their youthful lives; a fellow student of the above named school went on a rage and killed seventeen people. Seventeen lives were lost because one unstable person had his hands on a weapon of destruction. This event is not just a traumatic one for those involved, but more of an uproar; come on, its rational for anyone in this situation to be livid. Having seen clips of the incident, watched the town hall meeting aired by CNN, read tributes, speeches, and the ever trending hashtags #WeCallBS #NotAgain, it’s amazi...

Your Isaac

I always marvel at Abraham's faith. That man went through a lot. I ask myself if I'm capable of enduring one tenth of what he went through.. (Genesis 12 and 22) After waiting for years for a child, God eventually gave him one, and then God said he should sacrifice him.. Every time I read this passage (Genesis 22:2) I take a pause, I'm like 'hollup hollup, whatasay??'. I'm always like God please don't give me such a test oh; because I'll legit fail. 😖 Notice in Gensis 22:1; says 'After all this, God tested Abraham' (The Message). Its clearly says after all what Abraham went through God tested him, test is in past tense; meaning when Abraham was encountering such it wasn't a test for him. We read it now as a test; but for him it was life, real life! Not African Magic or Telemundo.. Lol. What's your Isaac I ask? It doesn't have to be your child.. Lol. It can be your time, your communion with God, or time with other belie...

Star Struck!

Hmmm… My people, na so I see my celebrity crushes… Na so I stand at attention Na so my mouth no gree move Na so I just dey look Chai! My brain no even boot to take picture… Na so I dull! Ha-ha! I wrote this poem on the spur of writing this post. I should actually give you the gist… Scene 1 I needed to use the ATM, so, I decided to go the nearest one around my office, I said to myself ‘this won’t take time, no need to carry phone’, that’s how I left my phone in the office oh. I got to the ATM, there were a couple of people, so I joined the queue, that’s how a black jeep rolled into the parking lot. Enter Nathaniel Bassey… I opened my eyes with surprise, (if you read my posts, you know Nathaniel is BAE!) and began to wonder why no one was screaming and acting all giddy. ‘Is the ATM working’ he asked. ME!!! He spoke to ME!!! I couldn’t even answer I just shook my head because I was too mesmerised. God bless you, I am...
